According to the sources and news, one of the gunmen who confronted the cartoon competition “Draw Muhammad” in Texas, has links to the American supporter of the Islamic State group.
The cartoon contest event was attacked by two mistrusted gunmen who are considered to be Jihadi. Their names are Simpson who is aged 31 and Nadir Soofi, aged 34. They injured a security guard in the attack, but later both of them were killed by the police. The government of United States is now looking in depth for its relation with the radical groups. The investigation showed that Mujahid Miski was the name used by Hassan while discussing the Jihadi attacks with Simpson.
Mohamed Abdullahi Hassan is an American citizen who joined the radical group fighting against the enemies of Islam called Islamic State.
He had a conversation with Elton Simpson using his alias Mujahid Miski on Twitter before making attack on Dallas suburb of Garland.
Terrorism expert David Ibsen from the Counter Extremism Project stated that “Miski was online talking about Charlie Hebdo and how people in the US had to do similar things.”
Looking back at the incident which took place in January, it is observed that almost 12 people were gunned down during the Islamist attack which happened on the newspaper that published satirical cartoons of Mohammad.
“Upon Simpson’s final tweet and news of the attack being announced across media outlets, Miski celebrated Simpson as both a martyr and a friend,” SITE Intelligence Group director Rita Katz wrote, in an analysis of their communication.
Looking further deep into the investigation results, it is evident that Simpson was thinking to go to Syria before they attacked the Cartoon competition in Texas. This is further clear from the files which FBI has discovered and the private messages they have found.
Simpson has already been sentenced for three years for the reason that he did not give appropriate information to the FBI and hide the plan of travelling to Somalia; he planned to travel to Somalia for the holy war called “Jihad.”
