A 13-year-old girl Florida girl gets kidnapped and assaulted, man charged
A 23-year-old man has confessed to the police that he has illegally entered the United States from Mexico. He has been arrested by the police for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl from Florida.
Aurelio Hernandez-Gomez has been arraigned Friday in South Haven, as reported by the Van Buren County sheriff’s office in southwestern Michigan.
The last time the girl had been seen was on Tuesday and then went missing. She had been reported missing to the Polk County sheriff’s office in Florida.
The police later learned that the girl was at a home in Hartford Township, southwest of Grand Rapids and the authorities of the region found the girl and Hernandez-Gomez in the home.
As of now, Hernandez Gomez is facing extradition and is scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday in South Haven District Court.
The 13-year-old girl has been placed in a protective custody for the time being, while the authorities are arranging for a way to return the girl to her family in a safe way as soon as possible.
