Diego Sachez has mended his broken collarbone and is desperate to return to the Octagon. And if things go as per plan, he’s going to be doing so in the featherweight division.

He already has an impressive record of 25-7 in MMA and 14-7 in UFC and is now looking to drop a weight class to 145 pounds. He feels that there are some good fights in that weight class and he wants to become a force to reckon with in the division. He is adamant that he will make the weight and will enter the division.

This only happened when Sanchez recently got a sponsorship from Instant Knockout Fat Burner. He realized that he easily could drop a weight class without much trouble. He managed to fall from 190 and 170 pounds without too much trouble.

“I weighed out all the positives and the negatives. As a positive, I want to be one of the UFC fighters - Kenny Florian is the only UFC fighter to compete in four divisions, but he didn’t win at 185. But he competed in four divisions. I want to be the one that actually wins (in four divisions).”

Sanchez won the first season of the Ultimate Fighter when he was 185 pounds and went 7-2 as a welterweight and even managed to challenge for the lightweight title in 2009. He believes that the current featherweight contender Conor McGregor has tremendous reach at 145 pounds and is a force to be reckoned with. Even though he hasn’t had too many opportunities to train while recovering but he has made significant changes to his body so that he can drop a weight class.

Sanchez does not have any fights booked yet and is still open to fights in the lightweight division as well. Sanchez is 33 years old already and wants to fight till the age of 37 before he re-evaluates his professional career. But for now, he has only one thing on his mind and that’s the featherweight championship.
