It was reported that, U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is coming up with new regulations which will make commercial drone use much easier for specific business operation. Till now commercial drone flight are banned in United States.
The news came after, it was revealed that FAA granted Amazon Logistic the approval to design a drone, which will be used for research, development and training. FAA has also confirmed that, Amazon also has to keep up with the same regulation used for Hollywood Studios. According to the regulations the drones must stay below 400 feet and can fly only during daylight. The regulation also stated that, pilot of the drones will always have to maintain a visual line of sight. Drone pilots will also have to obtain a private pilot’s license.
But industry experts had always suggested that the regulations were too tough for the companies, who want to use the drones to deliver goods to the consumers in 30 minutes or less around U.S.A. As commercial drones are banned across U.S.A. out of 750 request 48 company received exemption. But it was suggested that, with the new regulations in place by FAA companies don’t need to get exemption for each new use of a drone.
According to FAA insiders the new regulation and changes may be announced next week. There is also a Congressional hearing scheduled next Thursday regarding the commercial drone use. According to the industry experts, this positive signal is a good news for companies that are pushing for federal regulators to get rid of the obstacles for commercial uses of drones.
Experts also suggesting that, the companies who already have the exemptions will also be benefited from the new rules. Companies such as Chevron, Berkshire Hathaway’s BNSF Railway Co, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co, and a number of film and media companies can use the rule to get more flexibility. It was previously reported that, companies wanted to use drones for rail and pipeline inspections, crop surveys and aerial photography for commercials or movies.
