Fire went blazing through a residence in Brooklyn early on Saturday, taking the precious little lives of 7 children while leaving 2 other people in a very critical condition, states authorities.

New York Fire Department spokesman Jim Long said, the children who died in this horrific incident were between 5 years to 15 years of age and is believed to be each other’s family members.

At 12:23 am on Saturday, the firefighters received a call about the private residence in Midwood being on fire. This section of Brooklyn is known for its low crime rate and also consisting of a hefty population of Jewish Orthodox people.

Long has said that over a 100 firefighters have responded to the fire at hand and helped to bring down the fire and keep the situation under control.

For now there has been no word on what caused the fire. Long has informed that the matter in hand is still under investigation by the city fire marshal’s office.

The fire officials did not have any other details at hand, although the New York post has reported that the blaze has taken place in a brick home. It was also reported that as the firefighters worked their very best to put out the fire, the paramedics also struggled to help the victims.

A neighbor, Nate Weber has told the reporters that he has seen the children being taken away in stretchers.

“I turned away. I didn’t even want to look,” he said.

Weber also mentioned that he had heard the children’s mother yelling for help.

“I heard a woman yelling: ‘My kids are in there. Get them out. Get them out!'” he told the Post.

The matter is still under investigation and will be reported as soon as the city fire marshal’s office finds the cause of the fire.
