A state trooper from Wisconsin had been shot down by a suspect of bank robbery who has also been killed, according to the police. The trooper had exchanged gunfire with a person matching the description of a bank robbery suspect, as stated by Fond du Lac Police Chief William Lamb
According to a report, it has been indicated that a suspect had stolen the bank employee’s vehicle following robbing off the bank and fleeing the scene in that stolen vehicle.
Soon after this incident, the police have found a dead man on the roadside just beside a running vehicle. The police are deducing that it could be the original vehicle of the suspect that he ditched before stealing the bank employee’s one. The same day another robbery had been reported in Fond du Lac at around 4:30 p.m., although there is no indication as of yet about any connection in between these two.
On a news conference held on Tuesday, Lamb said that the trooper had been following the suspect’s vehicle around 5:30 p.m. when gunfire had been exchanged killing both the suspect and the trooper. The details on either of these two have been released by the authorities.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice stated that they will be investigating on this matter through its Division of Criminal Investigation along with other crimes which has taken place in Fond du Lac and has stated that “we cannot confirm at this time definitively these crimes fit together” but we will “provide an accurate timeline of events.”
