A 34 year old woman has been held accused for assaulting a pregnant woman. Authorities of Longmont Colorado said that, the 34 year has stabbed a pregnant woman in her stomach and removed the baby. This incident occurred when the pregnant woman came to visit the killer’s home in hopes of baby clothes for her unborn child.
Longmont police commander Jeff Satur has informed the Daily Times-Call newspaper that, when officers went it to the killer’s residence on Wednesday, they found the pregnant victim’s body stabbed and beaten. The victim was of 26 years of age.
She has undergone a surgery with expectations of recovery, but unfortunately her baby could not survive the traumatic death.
Cdr Satur has told that the suspect came into the hospital and told the staff that she had gone through a miscarriage.
The pregnant woman found her way to the woman’s house because she went it to buy baby clothes which were advertised on Craigslist.
“This is a tragic case for a mother right now,” Cdr Satur said. “She came by this house. She was attacked, and her baby was removed from her.”
The investigators have not released the names of either the victim or the suspect but have confirmed this much that they did not know each other from before and there was no link associating them except for the ad on Craigslist.
The suspect has been arrested at the hospital on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and child-abuse on purpose and recklessly resulting in a horrific death.
Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett has informed that the office is still coming into terms what formal charges to be filed against the suspect.
“The issues involving an unborn child are complicated under Colorado law,” he said. “In most circumstances, if a child was not actually born alive, then homicide charges are not possible.”
