Two dead bodies were found few miles away along the Arizona desert range. The two were a 12 year old boy and his 63 year old grandfather, Thomas Gillepsie. The bodies were found in mountains near Gila Bend near Phoenix. Maricopa county Sheriff reported they were discovered on late Wednesday. It is supposed that the boy died while he was out alone looking for help for his grandfather.
The search began as the daughter of Gillepsie called the authorities showing concern that she has not heard from her father neither from her son since they went hiking the previous day. The Sheriff’s spokesman Chris Hegstrom informed that the two left for a hike on the Mormon Battelion Trial on Tuesday morning and were found dead on Wednesday.
The boy’s body was found 1.5 miles away from his grandfather. Gillepsie’s body was found about five miles away from the trailhead where their vehicle was parked.
Authorities are suspecting that Gillepsie must have had a medical emergency and the extreme heat there of around 103 degrees took his life.
The boy had the keys of their vehicle and probably he died while looking out for help. It is not sure if these two had taken food and water with them or not. None was found near them and they didn’t have cell phones or communication device of any sort.
The officials reported that it is supposed that the two hikers were going out to take pictures of the way between Gila Bend and Maricopa.
Gillepsie was a teacher of alternative high school for pregnant teens and teen parents. He’s been teaching there for 23 years and was also a science teacher.
School principle Anne Dudley said that she along with the entire school were deeply shocked to know that Mr. Gillepsie was no more amongst them. Gillepsie was praised to be a very patient and helpful human being. He encouraged his teen students to struggle with life and used his science techniques to keep them enlightened.
