Apple introduced its 12-inch MacBookApple introduced its thinnest and lightest MacBook to date. The 12-inch MacBook which will be available for consumers from April is described as a combination of cutting edge components from Apple partners.

The new MacBook revealed on Monday, has only one connector beside the headphone jack. The MacBook also has a small port, which will be used for power, data and video — all-in one. The company said, the tinny connector, which is a third the size of the current USB ports helped them to keep the overall design as thin as possible. The best thing with the connector is that, it is reversible. So that users can plug it into the pc in either angle. The company said, users will appreciate the data speed and versatility of the port.

Tech experts are saying, this may be pointed out as one of the weakness of the new MacBook, as users will not be able to connect multiple devices at the same time. They also suggested that, at the end the users may have to go for expensive or pirated adapter. They said, even to connect an external monitor via HDMI or a microphone the users have to swap with the power adopter.

apple 2Tech experts are suggesting that, Apple should have facilitated more ports for the users at least one or two common connectors, but they also acknowledge that one or more ports would have made the pc heavier. While describing the new MacBook Jan Dawson, Chief Analyst with Jackdaw said, “It’s the first time we’ve really seen this version of it in a mass market device and Apple obviously has the potential to transform a technology like this from something that exists on paper and a standard to something that’s really adopted widely”.

Apple has also confirmed that, they have already began to sell some USB accessories on their website. According to Apple: A USB-C to standard USB is $19, consumers also can buy a USB-CDigital A/V multiport adapter or a USB-C VGA multiport adapter for $79. One USB-C charge cable will cost $29. They are also selling a spare USB-C power adopter for $49.
