The ATX Festival on June 7 has announced that it will host the much-awaited ‘Gilmore Girls’ reunion, the show that captured the hearts of millions. The reunion of the iconic show is being held in honor of its 15-year anniversary.

Although the show ended on 2007, Lorelai and Rory Gilmore seems to have gained more popularity in recent times courtesy of Netflix. The ‘newer’ generations have instantly fallen in love with the beautiful portrayal of the mother-daughter relationship and the witty humor of the show.

“I’m one of those people that watch it on Netflix every night, and have the DVDs as backup,” said Marci Solomon, 25, one of the many from the ‘newer’ generations, who discovered the show later on Netflix.

“It’s the basic relationship that created the magic and made us fall in love with the ‘Gilmore Girls.’ You can’t manufacture a chemistry like theirs. It’s effortless,” commented Carrie Ferrari, 25, another devotee of the series.

The fans have stirred up such a frenzy that even the ATX Festival’s organizers have admitted that the 3-day event was practically sold out primarily due to the reunion.

Fans will be eagerly waiting to see the show’s architect and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino with her leading ladies, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel under one roof, for the first time since the series finale.

Daniel Palladino, Amy’s husband and fellow executive producer, is expected to make the reunion as well. Among the cast members, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Liza Weil, Keiko Agena, Danny Strong, Matt Czuchry, Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia. Edward Herrmann have been confirmed for the mega event so far.

The chance to see so many familiar faces together in room will certainly raise hopes for a reunion movie among fans. “I feel like if Amy’s going to bring everyone together for a reunion at ATX, she’s got something big in mind,” commented a hopeful Solomon.
