John Bowlen, One of Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen’s sons has been arrested and charged with harassment after an alleged act of domestic violence with a woman who told police they were dating him., He was arrested, for suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment, and two Class 3 bad behavior.
He was released Thursday on $1,000 bond on conditions of monitored sobriety and no co-habitation with the victim. His next hearing is scheduled for July 6.
In the arrest affidavit, the woman also told police that Bowlen was under the influence of “whippets” and alcohol.
On the another report, the woman also told officers she told Bowlen she was going to call 911 because of his behavior and she went into the bathroom to call. Bowlen then ran into the bathroom and forcefully grabbed her shoulders and shoved her against a wall which caused her to drop her cellphone.
According to the report from the police, Bowlen’s girlfriend was trying to call police because “of his erratic behavior,” but dropped the phone when she was pushed. Investigators say Bowlen then ended the call. When dispatchers called back, he picked up the phone, an arrest warrant says.
To the report from the Denver Broncos, Bowlen is currently employed with the Broncos as a Corporate Partnerships Coordinator, and is one of seven children under consideration to become the new owner of the Broncos after their father Pat, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, stepped away daily operations as owner last July.
Intended for the domestic violence charges, however, there is a reasonable doubt about his ever rising to that position.
After getting the news, the Broncos said in a statement, we are disappointed to learn of the matter involving John Bowlen, who is a son of Owner pat Bowlen and an administrative employee with the organization.
The NFL expert believes that, Bowlen’s arrest may hamper his long-term prospects with the Broncos. Current Broncos owner Pat Bowlen stepped down last year due to a battle with Alzheimer’s disease, and all seven of his children, including Bowlen, have been under consideration to take over the team.
