New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s tax return shows $377,000 for memoir – Big bump indeed

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s memoir which has been published not too long ago has bumped his income to more than $550,000 last year.

It was shown that just last year Cuomo made a little less than $377,000 for the book “All Things Possible” and has made about $169,000 as governor along with return from some of his investments. The year before that, in 2013, he has earned $360,000 including an $188,333 advance on the book.

In 2014, Cuomo has reported $27,000 in charitable donations which has been equally divided for the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and HELP USA, a charity founded by Cuomo 30 years ago, for the homeless people.

The federal tax bill of the governor has been $155,193 and he owed $6,916. His federal tax rate had been a little under 28%. Cuomo paid $41,000 for state taxes while expecting a $3,212 in refund. In tax preparation fees, he has paid $8,250.

A financial disclosure filed by the governor reported that he hoped to make somewhere in between $700,000 to $900,000 for his memoir.

Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul’s tax return has shown that she and her husband have reported an income of $416,150 in 2014. Hochul joined the office this January, earned $237,498 as a VP of government relations at M&T Bank. Her husband William Hochul, the U.S. attorney for the Western District of New York has earned $136,137 last year.

The Cuomo administration has permitted the press and reporters to examine and copy tax returns of both Cuomo and Huchol on Wednesday, which had been the deadline for filing taxes.
