President Obama sounded very alarmed on Wednesday in the middle of the heat of Florida’s Everglades, concerning the damages from climate change and said that he was already perpetrating havoc in Florida and all over the United States
In an implied reprimand to the governor of Florida and other Republicans, Obama have accused those who are in denial of the human-made causes of the change in climate and pretending nothing is wrong. He pointed out that the rising sea levels have steeped the Everglades with detrimental salt water which has already jeopardized the drinking water of the state and its $82 billion tourism industry.
Obama said, “You do not have time to deny the effects of climate change.”
The short visit of Obama to the South Florida landmark had been timed to overlap with Earth Day and also emphasized his most recent attempt to make the connection between carbon emission and its real-life implications. Obama’s climate change agenda is already being attacked in Washington as well as other courthouses all across the United States and he has been on an operation to oblige the citizens of the nations to envision a world where the treasured natural wonders suffer due to pollution.
The president had not been seen in his regular wear, the suit and tie on Wednesday, instead he came in with a casual shirt with a pair of sunglasses when his helicopter landed in Everglades National Park.
The Everglades are the reason behind the tourism economy and water supply for Florida.
The two Republican from Florida who are prepping up for the upcoming presidential election in 2016, Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush, have been very cautious on the climate change issue in the middle of the well-funded oppositions within the Republican Party.
The GOP Gov. Rick Scott has already gained interest nationwide for resisting acknowledging human-made cause of climate change straight on. Before even the president paid his visit, Scott has accused him of making millions in budget cuts for repairing an aging dike around Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater body in Florida.
Obama did not particularly point out anyone’s name but he did make a series of indirect comments over allegations that Scott’s administration prohibited state employees to use the term ‘climate change’ and ‘global warming’ something that is being completely denied by Scott.
