Recent study has an answer for the age old fight between home-cooked and restaurant food

Everyone wants to go out and have a little fun every now and then. And when people are hungry they tend to go either to restaurants or for fast food.

There are a lot of factors which people take into account while deciding but you may also want to know what this write-up has to say about a recent study.

It appears like restaurant food isn’t any better as opposed to fast food. That’s right. Studying dining out behavior for Americans is a major target as far as learning about eating habits is concerned. But people tend to believe that fast food is quite similar to junk food.

People aren’t really aware of the type of food which is provided in full service restaurants & aren’t sure of whether it is healthier or better as compared to fast food or to the food which is prepared at home.

The team conducted studies which collated data from the (NHANES) National Health & Nutrition Examination Survey of 18000 adults who responded to survey questions on their two-day food recalls.

As per this survey, a third of participants ate fast food at least once or twice and a quarter said that they ate at a restaurant at least one time every day.

Research also shows that daily calorie consumption was the most among consumers who didn’t know while people with larger incomes got extra calories from regular restaurants instead.

Participants who were obese ate more calories at full-service restaurants as compared to people who were overweight or normal.

When preparing food for ourselves we know exactly what is in the food. But when we dine out, the ingredients are up to the chef. We are no longer in control.

The study also suggested that people take out the time to taste and chew your food. This will ensure you eat less and enjoy the meal even more.

But it does seem like the easiest way of controlling food intake is by cooking at home.
