The Gaver family, which travels around the nation, performing Christian music, started fighting officers who had been responding to a complaint of an assault in the bathroom of Walmart in Cottonwood, Arizona, which eventually led to an aggressive confrontation.

By the time the officers arrived at the scene, the suspects had already went on to attack other employee of the store in the parking lot.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Gravers said that they officer had been trying their best to break up the fight but ended up being caught in the fight themselves.
At one point the fight had gotten so out of hand that, 21-year-old Enoch Gaver grabbed the gun of Sgt. Jeremy Daniels in the middle of the fight and shot the officer. This prompted another officer to take his gun out and shoot Enoch Gaver, who ended up dead in the shooting.
The Gaver family was members of a Christian acoustic band called Matthew 24 Now and well known in Boise for playing outside a local market in exchange for tips. Posts on their Facebook page warns against the use of illegal drugs or other forms of promiscuity.
