Hilary Rodham Clinton, the former secretary of State, U.S. senator, presidential candidate and first lady, is as of now operating from a Manhattan supply closet.
Her team is working from a shared office of 7-by-10 which has worked as her operation base ever since her leave from the State Department in early 2013.
This is not an unusual way of working for a presidential campaign because of legal restrictions and tactical challenges which are faced before an official announcement.
This cramped up spaced filled with piles of paper and cleaning supplies will shortly be yielded to a much more appropriate environment for a running presidential campaign.
As of now, Clinton is the over-powering front-runner for the Democratic nomination. As soon as she is gearing up full-on, her campaign will be occupying a much well-organized office space in a Brooklyn high-rise.
Bill Burton, one of the first staffers hired for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign said “That period of time between the decision to run and the moment you stand up an actual operation is awkward, at best. There are certain things that have to get done in order to make the announcement work that don’t all fit in to a perfect time frame. You don’t have a fairy godmother who comes and says, ‘Here’s a lease for your campaign office and an agreement on your phone and Internet service and a staff that’s ready to go.’”
Clinton’s team is toiling away so that she has a great comeback to politics after being scrutinized heavily. She has Jen Palmieri on her team, who until recently was the White House director of communications along with Brian Fallon, who left the Justice Department and will be the campaign’s lead public spokesman.
One un-named future Clinton campaign worker said, “Anyone who thinks this is glamorous at the start must have walked into the wrong office.” The staff frequently sets up meetings in nearby coffee shops and restaurants.
Clinton will have to report all major expenditures acquired during this informal foundational stage as soon as she makes her candidacy official. She has passed up having an exploratory committee at this time, but it will help her to be able to coordinate with political entities that could perhaps support her presidential run.
