The most powerful man in the world deserves luxury and relaxation after carrying out all the responsibilities that he has for serving his nation. It appears that Barack Obama, the president of the United States of America is doing a little house shopping.
He has bought an $8.7 million Hawaiian mansion that has been featured in the classic 80s TV series “Magnum, P.I.,” as reported on Thursday.
This magnificent beachfront estate located in Honolulu has been purchased this week by a Chicago private-capital organization which is under Marty Nesbitt, a close friend of Obama. Fox associate KHON reports that it is assumed that the president has purchased the house and plans to come back to the city of his origin, his birthplace.
The 3-acre property is in Waimanalo, next to the town of Kailua where the president and his family had spent the winter holidays in the recent years.
Even though Nesbitt insists he was the solitary owner of the purchased place, the White House neither denies nor confirms the involvement of the president regarding this purchase.
Nesbitt is a Chicago based businessman and has served as treasurer for Obama’s first presidential run. At present he is appointed as the chairman of the Barack Obama Foundation, which plans to build the president’s future library.
Hawaiian locals are thrilled about the idea of an ex-president neighboring them.
“People on the beach here think it’s Obama, and some people like me are thrilled at the prospect,” Lee Siegel told KHON. “It’s wonderful. My dog there can’t wait to play with Bo.”
A local real-estate agent has informed KHON that the property is named “Pahonu” but was known as “Robin’s Nest” on the TV series which starred Tom Selleck. It has been sold by the original owner.
Obama has always been in touch with his roots and his childhood home state. He has visited the place with his wife and his daughters 6 times during his presidency.
