Southwest Airlines flying to Milwaukee diverted to Denver due to “pressurization” – 1 passenger hospitalizedA Southwest Airlines flight departing from Las Vegas and on its way to Milwaukee had to be diverted to Denver on Friday night because of a “pressurization issue” as reported by a local broadcaster.

In a statement, the airline mentioned that the aircraft had been carrying 175 passengers in total with 6 crew members who had a safe landing at Denver International Airport at around 8:30 p.m. local time.

Spokeswoman Laura Coale of Denver International Airport said that Flight 100, which departed Las Vegas at 6 p.m. PDT, diverted to Denver about 90 minutes following the departure. She stated to the Denver Post that the fire department crew members assessed the passenger and found that one of the passengers had been injured after experiencing a slip and fall during the deplaning process and had to be transported to the hospital. The diversion had been blamed on the “pressurization issue” although the statement had not been elaborated.

Dean Fox, a passenger of the flight explained the episode as a frightening one although the crew has remained calm all through the procedure. He also said that, “The oxygen masks did not deploy. Only a few passengers had reactions to the rapid pressure change.”

Representative of the Southwest Airlines could not be reached for any comment on the situation.
