The highest paying, undefeated and welterweight champion is calling it quits after his last match on September of his year. He wants to quit this profession in boxing as it’s not fun for him anymore and feels more like business to him. He wishes to go forth with his existing contract with Showtime which will end at the end of this year concluding his sixth fight with Showtime that will be held right after facing Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd.
The 38 years old champion shared his retirement thoughts in front of his crowd of fans during his public training session that was held on Tuesday.
“It’s not fun like it was back then,” he mentions. “It’s business now. I don’t really enjoy it any longer.”
Since his first professional fight debut in 1996, winning by TKO against Roberto Apodaca, Mayweather has come a long way to keep his undefeated winning streak for the past two decades. Now he aims to add another number to his winning streak has he prepares for his second to last match of his career. He aims to end his career with 49 as he is just two wins away.
He is excited for one of the biggest boxing match of his career, but he is not worried about it and fully confident. He would like to end his career with his undefeated record and has no tension of losing on May 2nd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Winning this fight will conclude Mayweather to be the greatest boxer of our time as both fighters are fan favorite and the greatest fighters of the past decade. Mayweather being undefeated can end his career in peace leaving back his legacy in boxing and being part of one of the biggest fight of boxing history.
The biggest fight in history with two of the greatest boxers of our time will collide as both the boxers are heading towards retirement but they have full-filled their fans request after being talk about it for the last five years. This is for boxing and for both their legacy as being the best of the best. With their legacy they both the fighters are also taking home over 120 Million dollars, making it the richest boxing match ever to take place.
